A native Texan with a deep love for all creatures great and small; Shaelene brings an abundance of energy and enthusiasm for their new adventure. As a mother to a lively two-year-old, she brings that same nurturing and patient spirit to her flock of sheep.

Upon graduation, they moved to Fort Worth, Texas with new jobs in the corporate world. However, their love for mountains and open space lingered in their hearts and hoped to one day relocate.
Unexpectedly, Nick's mom called with some troubling news - the family ranch needed help, and the grandparents couldn't manage alone. Nick and Shaelene didn't hesitate to say yes, and began the cross country move to California where they’d leave their city lives behind.
They got rid of most of they owned, packed up their four furry friends, and headed West. They arrived at the end of 2019, right before the whole world turned upside down. The pandemic brought unique challenges to the young couple who’d just left their family and friends behind to start a new life.
The challenges weren’t over as the young family faced significant loss and change when due to a few health issues, Nick and Shaelene found themselves alone on the ranch. Though they wish they’d gotten more time, they are grateful for the memories they got to make with Finnley and his great parents.
